Old Mutare | 16x40 (or 40x16) inches
"Old Mutare" is the 3rd painting in my new "World Traveler" body of work. It is named after the village in Eastern Zimbabwe where Africa University is located. I took two groups of UC Berkeley students there to volunteer on the university farm and at the nearby orphanage. I fell in love with the people and art of the region and many wonderful memories surfaced while I was creating this painting.
I created this original work of fine art using professional grade products applied to stretched, gallery-wrapped cotton canvas. It does not require framing and comes with hardware for hanging in your home or office. My style is often referred to as modern, abstract, conceptual, or Mid-Century Modern.
My work can be found at juried art festivals such as Cherokee Triangle Art Fair (Louisville), 4th Street Festival of the Arts (Bloomington), One America Broad Ripple (Indianapolis), and WinterFair (Columbus), and at fine art galleries and museums, including Fitton Center, Middletown Art, Richmond Art Museum, Oxford Community Arts Center, and ADC Fine Arts of Cincinnati.
