Proud Ally Angler
Proud Ally Angler was created in response to the Call for Art: Proud 2025 by the Oxford Community Arts Center in Oxford, Ohio. It expresses the artist’s support and celebration of members of the LGBTQ+ community and their allies. The painting is part of the artist’s “Angler Collection” recalling fond memories of fishing with her dad along the banks of rivers, lakes, and streams in Kentucky while she was growing up. Late into the night, they would cast their lines, sit back, and discuss theology, toke on rum-soaked “Crooks,” and sip Kentucky whiskey. While her father was a Southern Baptist Minister, he fully welcomed his gay brother and his brother’s partner into the family.
This original work of fine art was created by the artist using professional grade products applied to stretched canvas. It does not require framing and comes with hardware for hanging in your home or office. The style is modern, abstract, conceptual, or Mid-Century Modern.
Other works of art by this artist can be found at juried art festivals such as Cherokee Triangle Art Fair (Louisville), 4th Street Festival of the Arts (Bloomington), One America Broad Ripple (Indianapolis), and WinterFair (Columbus), and at fine art galleries and museums, including Fitton Center, Middletown Art, Richmond Art Museum, Oxford Community Arts Center, and ADC Fine Arts of Cincinnati.
